Bob, I owe you an apology. Some months ago, you portrayed a cop-killer as some sort of hero. At least that's how I took your comments. That really irked me.
In early August, I was driving through Mississippi, I-59, about 9:30 pm. I was following all laws, but when I passed a bunch of cops stopping and searching people, a few miles down the road one of the bastards came racing up like 120 mph. Let me say here that I have been driving since 1960 and have never had a moving violation, though I also drove around 200,000 miles since 1997 when I retired.
He did a license plate check, then pulled me over. As he approached my mini-van, he gave a mighty tug on the rear door. The whole car shook. Then, he came around to the front, and told me they weren't sure, but believed maybe I had not pulled over as I passed the cop cars with people stopped. That was a d****d lie. I am from Texas, where not to pull over is a serious offense.
He then told me to go on.
When I stopped at a motel in Hattiesburg, I called my son. He was upset. A couple hours earlier, he had been stopped on false reasons in Arkansas. Again, when he was seen by the cop, they waved him on.
The next morning, I told the day manager what had happened. she said she was hearing that tale from a lot of people.
I did some investigating, and conclude if he had got my back door open, he would have 'dropped' a bag of something, then taken my car. No charges filed that I could contest, just taken the car and suing costs around $30,000 which is 3 times more than a car is worth.
My son says they are definitely stealing cars with falsified probable cause. And they are taking far less than the statutory $10,000 limit. They tell their victims, Sarcastically, "SO SUE US."
So, now I understand that guy who killed the cops may have just been told they were taking his car.
My hero. A real Second Amendment patriot. Please accept my apology.
There's another issue about this that the media downplayed, namely that the cop attended the party with the hope of patching things with the ex. They got into a heated discussion and during the course of that the other females hurled insults at him, among other things calling him a "worthless pig". Considering their ages it's likely the slur was a reference to his gender rather than his occupation. The media's focus on gun ownership and the cop's age seems to be a foil to avoid discussing the feminist indoctrination that females can insult anyone anytime and it'll always be received without serious consequences.
Note to tsander: You have a good point. If he wasn't an evil blue gun thug it would be tempting to applaud him for taking out a pack of evil feminazi whores. Sometimes it's a joy when the enemies of men start killing each other.
