Budget Crimes -- What's Going On

The law says the Congress must pass a budget and appropriations bills for the government before the beginning of each Fiscal Year. FY 2011 began on October 1, 2010. These are usually enacted one department at a time for each department, agency, project, etc. Last year, both houses of Congress were controlled by Democrats, but they failed entirely to adopt a budget for even a single department of the government. Instead they passed a so-called Continuing Resolution to allow the government which continue spending at FY 2010 levels for a few months. A CR fails to address new needs for this year, and continues funding for completed projects such as the 2010 census staff. The Continuing Resolution Expired in March.

Last year in November voters tossed out many Democratic Congressmen and replaced them with conservative Republicans. Many of the newly elected Representatives promised voters that they would cut spending and cut the size of government. Many of the newly elected Representatives are being true to their promises to voters and won't vote for spending as usual. Senate Democrats, led by Hairy Reid, are still blocking FY 2011 funding. The Continuing Resolutions are expiring, and the government will experience a shut down because (both houses of) Congress has not approved any budget.

For those who may be wondering what the hold up is, here is my observations.

Hairy Reid stood on the Senate floor today and spoke to the nation on C-SPAN2. He said that their big objections are tax funding for abortions and funding for the EPA to implement Obama's "Cap and Tax" program.

First, funding for abortion is illegal. Tax funding for abortions was outlawed by Congress almost 20 years ago with President Clinton signing the bill. Many polls show that even among those who support a right to abortions, most oppose making taxpayers pay for them. That is why its been illegal for almost 20 years. Despite being illegal, and despite being opposed by most Americans, the US taxpayers have been paying almost half a billion dollars per year to fund abortion clinics. See recent undercover film here.

House passed FY-2011 budget, HR-1, took illegal abortion funding out of the budget. Now Obama and Reid threaten to shut down the government to restore illegal tax funding for abortions.

Reid's second issue is funding for EPA to implement Obama's "Cap and Tax" program. Cap and Tax is a liberal scheme to levy huge taxes on every usage of carbon based fuel, oil, coal, natural gas. It will add at least another dollar per gallon to gasoline. It will add hundreds of dollars to each winter's home heating. It will add hundreds of dollars to your electric bills. It will destroy industry, destroy the economy, and harm every American. It will line the pockets of Obama, Al Gore, and their Chicago Board of Trade cronies, making billions of dollars in profits for them. It was originally based on the fraud of “global warming.” When that scam was revealed, it shifted to “climate change,” and now its for “clean air.” Its a mega scam government corruption searching for a justification.

The Congress considered "Cap and Tax" regulations for the fraud of "global warming" last year when Democrats controlled both houses. The Democratic controlled Congress turned down Obama's get rich scam. So Obama is now trying to have the EPA implement law that Congress rejected. The little dictator refuses to accept “NO” from the people's representatives. In its FY-2011 budget, HR-1, the House removed funding for the EPA to develop and implement this fraudulent program that Congress previously considered and rejected. Now Reid and Obama will shut down the government because it is not funded.

The House budget, HR-1, also cuts $2 billion payment to Obama's golf and vacation buddies at GE to develop a "backup" engine for the F-135 that the Defense Department doesn't want. They won't mention it in public, but cutting funding for Obama's golf buddies (who pay no taxes) is a big problem.

Its time for Reid and Obama to get square with the law, put dictatorship government behind them, and get on with running the government in a responsible manner.

I remember women being very upset in the Clinton years when an amendment (The Hyde amendment I think but not sure) went through not letting any tax dollars go for abortion. Did that get repealled sometime?

How come most women are pro abortion but most men are against it?

Note to anonymous:
The Hyde amendment is still the law. It is illegal to spend TAX money for abortions. Nevertheless the government has continued to fund abortion clinics of Planned Parenthood at about $330,000,000 per year. Planned Parenthood claims that they use donated funds for the doctor fee, but the cost of the abortion clinic, supplies, staff, etc., are all paid with tax money. Republicans recognize that money is a fungible commodity. Paying tax money to construct 100 new abortion clinics in strip malls across America violates the law. Republicans finally obeyed the Hyde Amendment and cut funding for abortions. Democrats are screaming, and are shutting down the government because of this cut.

Current abortion laws in the US gives total control over OUR children to females. There is no consideration of equal (or any) rights for fathers to make decisions about OUR children in the feminist dogma of "A woman's right to choose."

They will never solve the strong objections to total female power over OUR children unless and until the feminists concede some of their total power and negotiate shared authority with fathers. If no agreement is reached, abortions will again be illegal, and equal rights will be restored.

Looks like Bohner caved on the Planned Parenthood thing, and also on the EPA. The Dems can chalk this one up as a win for their side.

Yep, Boehner caved on all the important spending issues. I noticed that he had to have Democrats voting for the temporary CR late Friday night. There was enough opposition from Republicans that it would not have passed without Democrats. That might be a signal that the Tea Party Caucus will try to replace him when the House comes back from the weekend on Tuesday.

One thing that few have noticed is that the Senate leaders agreed to allow a vote on repeal of Obamacare (HR-2), and presumably The Obama agreed not to veto the outcome. The Republican strategy may have been to trade PP and EPA funding (until the 2012 budget) for Obamacare repeal. They may know of 3 or 4 Dem Senators who will vote with them. Many Republican Governors are likely to phone Senators and say "We can't afford it." And, many Democrat Senators are up for election/replacement this cycle. That's another $110 billion in cuts if it passes the Senate, pulse a trillion more over 10 years. We will have to wait a few days to see how the Obamacare repeal comes out.

Lots of things going on behind closed doors.

I have a question about the tea party and abortion. I can understand being against it and not wanting it to happen. But it seems to me that the best way to get rid of abortion is to try and avoid unwanted pregnancy in the first place. Why not have sex ed starting in 5th grade including birth control and how to use it? Put condom dispensers in all public bathrooms, switch the pill to over the counter like in other countries and price it about like aspirin, and other low cost ways to prevent pregnancy? It seems to me that that would be sensible but most people who don't want abortions don't seem to want these other things either. Could you try to explain it to me?

Thx

Note to anonymous:
The TEA Party is made up of many individuals with individual ideas about abortions. The TEA Party organizations do not have a policy on abortions except that they oppose higher taxes and the spending of public tax money (our money) for elective abortions.

I suspect that spending OUR tax money to block birth control pills for men in order to maintain feminist/female domination of decisions related to family planning, as is done today, would be opposed by TEA Party voters.

The TEA Party supports getting the government off our back and out of our pockets.

If a female becomes capable of becoming pregnant at the age of 7, should she have babies at that age? Is a first-grader able to be a good mother?

RE: contraception and abortion (April 13, 2011 11:18 AM), there is an interesting discussion about this very topic in today's NYT online editorials. The op-ed piece is short and written by a woman. The comments are the interesting part. No new comments are being accepted which is too bad. On the first page of comments is one from someone called Mikee, don't know if its the same one. You should read the comments.

Throughout most of the middle ages, Catholic canon law prohibited marriage before age 7. That was the law in most of Europe for almost a thousand years. Then feminism happened.

Obviously if you separate young women and deprive them of learning about adult responsibility and activity the they are not capable.

I don't think a first grader, with or without public hair, is a young woman. Or a second or third grader, or a sixth. Young women are those whose brains have had a chance to mature. If we have a freakish situation where chemicals and poor diets create premature puberty, this is a health problem. I hope anonymous was joking about motherhood for little children. That's sick.

As for the New York Times article, I agree with my former senator who says men should just butt out. Women are the only ones who have to deal with pregnancy, so we should step aside and let them handle it. There's not a good reason for us to interfere one way or another. Pass C4M (Google it if you're not familiar with it), use a condom, and let the women make their own choices.

Your femiNazi demands for total control over OUR children and families is a very old and very tired saw. We won't ever come to an agreement unless and until you femiNazi can negotiate equal rights to make decisions about OUR children.

How can there be equal rights when they have 100% of the pregnancy to go through and we don't? I can't see a way. If I want the child and she doesn't, I can't carry it to term. She would have to do it, at whatever cost to her body, career, education, whatever. If she wants it and I don't, if I have the right to walk away (Choice4Men), that's as equal as it can biologically be. That's just how our bodies are set up. C4M is about fairness. Pass it and let the women make their own choices.

For more than a century you femiNazi have been pushing your old tired LIE about "equal rights." But that LIE doesn't fly. In fact, you always demand only female power to own, control, and dominate. There will never be peace until and unless you femiNazi give up female domination and negotiate equal rights to make decisions about OUR children and families.

You keep not answering when posters ask you how equal rights will actually work. With equal rights if a woman gets pregnant, the man will have the legal right to:

Do what? What will his rights entail? Could you be specific?

If you weren't so completely indoctrinated in female despotism you might have read what Bob said before you show your complete lack of comprehension of the concept of equal rights.

As Bob said before, men have a fundamental equal right to make all decisions concerning OUR children.

All decisions? How will that work? In practice, not theory. With equal rights that Bob wants, a woman gets pregnant and the man:

Note to anonymous;
You must be trying to be deliberately obtuse. Obviously equal rights requires that a mother consult with and gain concordance of the father regarding decisions affection OUR child. We will never have peace until and unless feminists are willing to put female domination aside and negotiate for equal rights.

Note to readers:
All your arguments that females should rule because females are female are sexist, avoid serious discussion or thinking, and are nothing but old tired tautologies, and they are off topic. The topic of this post is Obama's budget crimes.

Simple ways to require equal rights would include prohibiting all abortions, or requiring approval of both parents of the child. I'm sure you can think of other ways if you drop your sexist "females rule!" feminism.

We will now return to the topic "Budget Crimes -- What's Going On."
