The flat area near a stream or river is wonderful farm land. It has many feet of top soil brought there by frequent or occasional floods of the stream or river. Ancient Egyptians relied on annual floods to renew fields and water their crops.

Over the past few days we have been watching video from Japan where an earthquake cause a tsunami that eradicated all the beachfront homes, and all the flat land homes near the sea. See before and after photos here. In most of the films and still photos of the damage there are hills and higher ground that didn't get flooded, and didn't have homes or buildings. Like most sheeple, the Japanese follow the natural tendency to build their homes, villages, cities, and commercial buildings on flat land by the rivers and seas.

While Bob has a lot of sympathy for those who lost their lives, or lost their homes and are now suffering, Bob has to point out that its their own stupid fault for building or buying in the most likely place to suffer that damage. Its not like every Japanese did not know that a serious earthquake and tidal wave was just a matter of when, not if it would strike. They knew that sooner or later their homes, towns, and cities would get swept away by an earthquake and tidal wave, but they built or bought homes and businesses there anyway. Stupid F'ing idiots!

Japan has no monopoly on human stupidity. In the US, there are homes built all along the Mississippi river. Hello? Anyone home upstairs? It is going to flood. The only question is when will it flood. In Washington state there are cities build on the lahars down hill from active volcanoes. Hello? Anyone home upstairs? Its going to erupt. The only question is when will the next lahar eradicate the city and everyone in it.

For many years Bob has been preaching the wisdom of building homes on higher ground. The Indonesian tsunami a couple years ago would not have caused a hundred thousand deaths if the people had built on the hills, not on the beaches. Many foolish people continue to live on the flat plain, waiting for “The Big One” to wipe them out.

In your life, you do not have to be a sheep waiting for the axe to fall. Bob lives on a hilltop, high above the flood plain. Bob lives where there are no tornadoes, no hurricanes, no floods, and no lahars. Its a little more expensive to build up here, but often the land is less expensive than the ocean front or river front land. Don't be a stupid fool, or a dead fool, like so many who's homes, villages, and cities are sitting ducks for the next natural disaster that everyone knows is coming.

Flu Scam of the Season

All across the US, every medical clinic and pharmacy is pushing Flu Shots. Every local TV outlet hammers it home every news broadcast --- Get a flu shot!!!!! Even Buy Mart puts signs out in front, “Flu Shots Today.” Did you ever wonder why? Follow the MONEY!

The flu shot is sold for around $30 per person. Off the top the state takes 10% or $3 more for sales tax.

Assuming that 1 of every 3 Americans gets a flu shot that is $33 times 100,000,000 people or $3..3 billion dollars. Whatever temporary benefit you get for your $33 is fleeting. You will have to buy another next year, and the medical industrial complex plans to sell another $3.3 billion in flu shots next year again. If they can terrify more than one out of three Americans into getting the shots their massive annual profits go up and up.

The actual serum cost only a few cents to produce. Its manufactured under a GOVERNMEN MONOPOLY LICENSE so the manufacture can sell it for $5, about 99% profit – less kickback to corrupt politicians. Your local neighborhood doctor, clinic, or pharmacy pays around $5 and sells for $30, making an easy 6 times their money. The scam is on.

They pay TV stations to terrorize gullible females and unthinking men to believe that they are all going to die of swine flu or some other flu unless the sheeple run out and pay $30 each. In many cities they have lobbied School Boards to require mass consumption by all children enrolled in schools. The scam gets bigger and bigger.

Now the new corrupt Fascist government is concerned that all their illegal alien immigrants don't pay the $30 each to enrich their medical industrial complex benefactors, so they have a new law to rob all Americans. Whether you want to pay the $30 or not, you now have to pay for your own and those of 3 or 4 other people you will never meet.

Regular readers of The World According to Bob will have read Bob's previous article about cutting the cost of medical care in the US. Freedom from the government monopoly would allow non-monopoly suppliers to sell $0.05 worth of product for no more than $2 to $5 at retail including labor to administer the shots. Freedom of information would eliminate the paid horror story terrorism constantly promoted by LICENSED TV outlets.

What can you do? First, you don't have to follow the sheeple to pay your $30 every year. Second, you can work with Tea Party or other groups to recapture our government and restore freedom.

Reforming The Medical Industrial Complex

Two more disturbing bits of news on the fascist "Blanc Check" medical industry takeover.

First: The Obama regime already controls medical care for aging veterans under the long established veteran's benefits programs. Obama rolled out its "euthanasia" plan for elderly veterans without waiting for Congress to enact a similar "death for the elderly" plan for all Americans. Elderly veterans now are to receive "counseling" on "Hospice," and pain medication in lieu of medical treatment. Meanwhile FactChuck keeps telling us that the Obama (Blanc Check) plan does not include euthanasia for the elderly.

Second: The Obama regime has extorted millions of dollars from pharmaceutical corporations by threatening them with loss of their monopoly protection, or loss of approval of their products by the FDA. They are being forced to pay for promotion of his (Blanc Check) fascist takeover of the medical industry. You may have noticed the ads on network TV praising Democratic Senators for their support of Obama fascism and asking you to phone them with more encouragement. When you see those ads, think "fascist extortion" being used for a fascist propaganda program.

THE PROBLEM, A GOVERNMENT CREATED MONOPOLY

Everybody in the US knows that medical treatment has become so expensive that an average working man cannot afford it. Employers have responded by paying for insurance to spread the extreme cost of medical treatment over a whole population. Insurance makes people pay whether they need medical care or not. Mostly insurance makes men pay for the medical treatment of women. Men pay about 80% of medical insurance premiums and women receive about 75% of medical treatment.

From an economic perspective company paid medical insurance is part of the “real wages” that an employer pays to hire you. It gets deducted out of your pay before the taxes are calculated, but its a cost per employee that the employer has to pay. It is part of your pay. And no, of course, the Obama regime wants to tax your total wages, not just your paycheck wages. And you thought he said he wouldn't raise taxes on working people. ROFLMAO!!!

Little by little medical treatment has become so expensive that many employers can no longer afford to pay that much for employees. They have to compete with the next company down the road and so company paid insurance has become a huge expense that they are no longer paying.

Why, you might ask, is medical treatment so expensive? What you get for $400 is 45 minutes waiting in a room full of sick people, 10 minutes of a junior level nurse taking your weight and pulse, and maybe 5 minutes of a doctor's time during which he ignores most of your concerns and tells you to take the latest pills being pushed by some pharmaceutical corporation. The pills cost another $100. If you have insurance you only pay $15 or some token amount while the doctor has to hire 3 office staff to fill out the paperwork from insurance companies and government.

Why does that need to cost $500? Answer: It doesn't have to cost so much. It costs that much because it is a government created and enforced monopoly scheme to bleed your wallet. It is fundamentally a government created “pay or die” extortion scheme. How does the scheme work you might ask? Everyone in the media is talking about “reform” of the health care industry. Are they suggesting anything that will lower these extortion level prices? No, sorry. When you or I think about “reform” of a monopoly extortion racket we think about lowering costs and increasing our freedom of choice. That isn't what the Obama regime, the Democrats, nor the socialist propaganda outlets mean by “reform.” Whenever a corrupt politician is talking about “reform” what they are imagining is a creative new scheme to increase government control over your life and bleed the remaining life out of your wallet.

Instead of actually reforming the government's medical industrial monopoly, the Obama regime is planning to write them a massive blank check from your wallet, to pay all of their extreme prices and whatever they want to charge. They will save costs, as Obama said, by giving the elderly “pain pills” instead of medical treatment.

NEEDED REFORMS -- FREEDOM

Here is a list of reforms that the government could do to greatly lower the extreme cost of medical care. If government would get their corrupt evil hands out of health care the prices would drop back to where you or I could just go into a clinic and buy some.

1. End the government's quota system that limits medical schools and the number of doctors. Our Congresscunt's web page whines about how “concerned” she is over the shortage of doctors, but she says nothing at all about ending the government's quota system. The function of the quota has nothing to do with quality of doctor education. It is solely intended to reduce price competition, create a shortage of doctors, and allow doctors to get rich by selling their time to the highest bidder. When Bob was in University the highly respected medical school accidentally graduated more doctors than allowed by its quota. The AMA/government threatened them with loss of license to educate doctors because the QUOTA had been exceeded. No allegations were made that the huge state university wasn't able to train twice as many quality doctors. They could educate many doctors, if they were allowed to. Its a quota. They exceeded the quota. Too many doctors would create completion and break the government monopoly.

2. Stop the ridiculously expensive over-schooling of doctors. The quota system goes hand in hand with the greatly over expensive training of doctors. It adds nothing to a doctor's medical education to require 16 plus years of school before being allowed to apply for medical school. The Bachelor's degree with “A” average that medical schools require for admission is used to cut the number of doctors and keep an artificial limit on supply, to keep prices up. For most General Practitioner and Family Doctor work it doesn't even really take 4 or 5 years in medical school followed by another 4 years as a “resident” doctor in training at a hospital.

Most medical treatment could be just as effective if done by a doctor who had 4 years of schooling, including part time apprentice work with senior doctors. In the small percentage of difficult cases or complicated surgeries a more expensive and more highly educated doctor could be hired. It is ridiculous and grossly over expensive to require all doctors to be massively over educated for the work they are doing.

The reason why you cannot choose a less expensive general practice doctor is because the government monopoly does not allow less expensive doctors to provide services at reduced cost. No freedom to choose. Lots of government control. A huge and extremely expensive government mandated monopoly is what we have. Will it be reformed? LOL. Not by the Obama regime.

3. Break the government monopoly's control of our basic right to purchase medication when we decide that we need it. Take for example, a typical man “Charlie” who needs another year of Alopurinol for gout. Charlie has been taking Alopurinol for years along with millions of other gout sufferers. One pill a day keeps gout away.

Twenty years ago Charlie consulted a doctor and was prescribed Alopurinol to stop the recurring gout attacks. Consulting with a doctor for a new malady is a good option that Charlie was glad to have. But that was 20 years ago, and the gout continues for the rest of your life if Charlie is like other men.

All the information about Alopurinol is available on the Internet, including the patient information and the “doctor” information. Charlie has read all that, has 20 years of personal experience dealing with gout, and relies on Alopurinol for prevention. Sometime this month Charlie's year supply of pills is running out. In order to purchase another year supply Charlie must have (by government fiat) the permission of a government monopoly overpriced doctor. The government will not allow Charlie to just buy some pills. That would not feed the monopoly that contributes so much to the reelection funds of Congressional swine.

In order to purchase another year of Alopurinol for his gout, Charlie has to pay $100 or more, wait in some stupid room full of sick people for an hour, and endure the indignity of having his body poked, prodded and touched in unfriendly ways. If he's lucky he will only have to pay $100 for the monopoly's permission to purchase his pills. Depending on the doctor Charlie could end up paying $400 or more.

Once Charlie has permission to purchase his pills, he can go to a government regulated pharmacy and pay another $100 for a package of pills that would be priced at $50 in Canada or $25 in Mexico. The reason that health care is so expensive in the US is because the government mandates that millions of men like Charlie have to pay $200 (or more) to purchase $10 worth of pills.

The people have a fundamental right to choose our own doctor, to choose a highly skilled specialist or an inexpensive general practitioner for a routine problem. We have a right to buy another year of our pills without paying the government monopoly for permission. It is the government that is responsible for extremely high prices in the medical industrial monopoly.

In Charlie's case, 95% of the cost is waste and abuse caused by government. That is typical of the whole medical industrial monopoly. Real “reform” would get the government out of our lives, out of our doctor's offices, and off our backs.

4. Break the trial lieyer's fraudulent lawsuits against doctors. In a typical fraud, Senator Edwards made a large fortune by filing fraudulent lawsuits against OBGYN doctors in small rural areas where uneducated juries could be found. Edwards would convince juries with crying women rather than facts and evidence. His lawsuits raised the price of a typical OBGYN's malpractice insurance greatly. Edwards is single handedly responsible for raising the cost of OBGYN services to the average woman by about 25% across the whole US. Lieyer Edwards made a huge fortune, and spent some of his money getting himself elected to the US Senate.

The Edwards fraudulent lawsuits of OBGYNs are just one example of out of control single party and class action suits that plague doctors every day. Something like 1/3 of all the money doctors and hospitals charge goes to their malpractice insurance. Many doctors also use “defensive” tests, expensive unneeded tests, done solely as a hedge against frivolous and costly lawsuits.

Sometimes called “Tort Reform” a law limiting medical lawsuit damages to reasonable actual damages and barring “punitive” extra damages would greatly reduce medical costs. Yes, it is sad when some patient suffers because a doctor made a mistake. Raising the price of medical care for all the other patients in the US will not restore an arm, vision, or life that was lost by the mistake.

Tort reform would prevent unscrupulous lieyers like Edwards from getting rich on the backs of hard working men and women who need medical care. Will the Senate consider Tort reform? Is Edwards a Senator? Who's ox is getting gored? You figure it out.

5. End the government required monopoly in the pharmaceutical industry. The pharmaceutical industry pays big contributions to Congressmen to protect them from low priced competition. For example, several states that have free medical programs for poor people discovered that they could buy pills in Canada for less than the price in the US. The government passed a law making it illegal to purchase US made pills in Canada for lower prices than they are sold for in the US.

The price we pay for pills in the US is often 100 times what we should be paying without the government monopoly. A package of pills that costs 25 cents to produce will be sold for $2.50 in Africa, $25 in Europe, $50 in Mexico, $100 in Canada, and $250 in the US. If the government monopoly would allow competition, some small business startup would be producing the very same quality pills (or better) in your town and selling them for a handsome profit at $5. The rest of the $250 is the government monopoly.

Some will argue that the big corporate pill pushers are assuring quality. But small business often produces better quality than impersonal corporations. For example, the beer industry. Local small business often makes far better beer than big corporations. Local small business is much more sensitive to customers turning away when the quality slips. Big corporations can and often do sell crap to customers who can't tell the difference. The quality of corporate products is especially bad when they know that they have a government monopoly so you buy their crap made pill or die.

Some will argue that giving massive profits to corporations allows them to fund medical research. Okay, that's nice, but how many billion of our dollars goes to greedy profits and congressional corruption? There are far better ways to fund medical research than by giving a total monopoly to all the huge corporations for all the generic pills that can be produced on any corner.

Cutting off the government monopoly in the pharmaceutical industry would cut pill costs in the US to less than 10% of what we pay now. It would cut pharmaceutical corporation contributions to corrupt politicians by the same percentages. That's why they don't do it.

SUMMARY OF NEEDED REFORMS
1.End the quota system for doctors
2.End the mandated extremely over-education of doctors
3.Allow free citizens to purchase pharmaceuticals at our own decision. It's our body.
4.Break the Lieyer scum with Tort Reform
5.Break the pharmaceutical monopoly by allowing open manufacture and sale of pills.

WHAT CONGRESS AND OBAMA ARE DOING

Obama, Congress, and the Fascist NYC propaganda machine are all taking about “reform” of medical care in the US. They are not suggesting any of the needed reforms. When a fascist politician talks about “reform” what he means is that he has invented a new scheme to further extend control of your life and bleed your purse even more than it is being bled now.

None of the Congress, of either party, are talking about real reform in medical care. Only the Republicans are talking about Tort Reform and they only bring it up because they know the Dem's won't talk about it.

Congress is planning to write a blank check to their obscenely overpriced medical industrial monopoly, and pay for the check by taxing YOUR bank account or wages. They are proposing to require all Americans to pay for the bloated sow of monopoly medicine whether you are healthy or sick, and to extend free benefits to every illegal alien who can run across the border. Obama promised free medical care to every Mexican who can get into the US during his recent trip to Mexico.

WHAT CAN YOU DO

Bob does not advocate insurrection, sedition, murder, violence, assault, or any other criminal or illegal acts. You can only take every opportunity to speak with corrupt politicians and demand real reform. Don't expect the fascist government and corrupt politicians to listen to the people.

Perhaps when the total economic collapse that will inevitably come from their incompetent and corrupt mismanagement the people can reorganize a more just government. Save whiskey for trade goods.

Lies, Sunshine, and Vitamin D

For the past 30 years the media and the marketeers have been working hard to create a hysteria against sunshine. Fear mongers warned gullible females that they should avoid sunshine or lather up with sun blocker creams when avoidance was impossible. Bob's mother took to wearing long sleeve shirts in the middle of summer to prevent exposure to sunshine. Mothers of young children were advised to keep their child out of the sun, and use plenty of toxic chemical sun blocker whenever they went outside. “Sunshine causes skin cancer,” they all warned, “Your baby will die young if he gets sunshine.”

After 30 years we find out that the fear monger and hysterical females were as nuts as usual. Sunshine is good for your health, and good for the health of children. Sunshine is so good for your health that it should be called “necessary for health.” When we are exposed to sunshine our skin produced Vitamin D. When you don't get sunshine, your Vitamin D levels drop. It turns out that Vitamin D is crucial in preventing death from cancer, and stops more skin cancer than the sunshine causes. Healthy levels of Vitamin D greatly reduce the probability of getting other kinds of cancer such as colon cancer, and it reduces heart problems.

For young women, low levels of Vitamin D greatly raises the incidence of Autism. The epidemic of children with autism over the past 30 years may be almost all related to the hysterical fear mongering that kept young women out of the sun.

Low levels of Vitamin D are also related to the increasing rates of asthma and allergies. See article. For young children, the low levels of Vitamin D also greatly increases their incidence of bone and heart disease. Adults with low Vitamin D levels have similar medical problems.

Young mothers today put our children in front of a boob tube instead of sending them out to the yard to play. The fear mongers have convinced millions of women that a child playing in the yard will probably be killed, raped, or attacked. The actual rates of crimes against children are much lower than when Bob was young. Only the fear level of stupid female head of households is much higher. So children are routinely kept indoors most of the time. When they do get allowed to go outside, often only with adult supervision, they are lathered with toxic chemical sun blockers that prevent the beneficial effects of the sun.

People with dark skin whose ancestors were from Africa or other tropical areas need more sun than people with white skin to produce the same amount of Vitamin D. A dark skinned person is out of his native climate in a northern latitude where he must be indoors much of the year. Black and dark skinned people need to spend more time outdoors than white skin people. The autism rate for children of black African mothers in northern latitudes is much higher than for their relatives back home in Africa because they get much less sunshine and therefore much less Vitamin D.

Instead of sun block chemical creams children and adults should be exposed to sunshine daily beginning every spring as soon as the weather is warm enough to take off your heavy winter coats. Begin with an hour of sunshine per day until your skin reacts by creating increased levels of natures sunblock, the “tan” color. Except for a very few of the most sensitive individuals of far northern ancestry, by midsummer we can spend much of he day in direct sunshine without getting sunburn or being over exposed. Don't try to overdo it all at once the first days of spring. Sunburn probably causes more harm than the Vitamin D prevents. You don't need to sunburn, but you do need to get plenty of sunshine.

Fear of sunshine has become so pervasive that the majority of children are now suffering from seriously low levels of Vitamin D. Fearful mothers who prevent their children from playing outside, and lazy mothers who just push them toward boob tubes all day long, are causing children to get a wide variety of crippling or fatal diseases associated with Vitamin D deficiency.

Get the kids away from the TV, the computer, the games, and get them out of the house. Fresh air and sunshine is important for children. And while you are at it, sunshine is important for good health in adults too. Go outside and take off your shirt. What is your Vitamin D level today? Have you gotten lots of sunshine exposure in the past few weeks?

And don't listen to your hysterical idiot mother or the boob tube talking heads telling you that you need sunblock.

Truth Causes Problems

At radio KRXQ in Sacramento, California the afternoon talk hosts told the truth about brain damaged perverts who become eunuchs and pretend to be female. The two hosts are Arnie States and Rob Williams. On May 28, States and Williams were discussing the California Constitutional law prohibiting faggots to pretend to be married. Their conversation turned to other deranged idiots, those who pretend to be the other sex.

"If my son, God forbid, if my son put on a pair of high heels, I would probably hit him with one of my shoes. I would throw a shoe at him," States said on the air.

Williams suggested transgender people suffered from a mental disorder.

"They are freaks. They are abnormal," he said. "Not because they're girls trapped in boys bodies, but because they have a mental disorder that needs to be somehow gotten out of them."

The California pervert organizations immediately attacked them. Telling the truth to perverts is not PC in California. Pervert dominated corporations have pulled advertising from the station. Faggot loving corporations who are penalizing truth include Bank of America, Verizon Communications Inc., Nissan Motor Co. and Carl's Jr. restaurants. In today's developments, the Somalia Pirates are so shaken by Pansy Obama's pledge to sick Ms. Hitllary on them that they now claim to be specifically targeting American ships and intend to kill all the crew if they can board the American cargo vessels. Ms. Hitllary was home in DC threatening to "freeze assets" of known pirates. What a total joke. The Pansy and the Pussy are going to stop pirates. What a total joke. Meanwhile 550 miles off Kenya while the US Navy hems and haws, the French Navy is kicking ass. The French captured a pirate "mother ship" and 11 pirates.

In related news, Congressman Ron Paul, from Texas, read the US Constitution and noticed that CONGRESS is responsible to establish ways of dealing with pirates, and for issuing letters of Marque and Reprisal to authorize privateers to join the fight against pirates. Ron Paul advocates recruiting privateers who would be paid by keeping all the pirate ships and pirate loot they can capture from the pirates. Presumably they would kill or "deep 6" any pirates who needed disposal. Leftists are always terrified when a Congressman actually reads the Constitution and suggests following it.

The Somalia Pirates were so shaken by Obama's threat to sick Ms. Hitllary on them that they attacked and tried to hijack another American ship on Wednesday morning. The MV Liberty Sun was attacked with rockets and small arms fire. The ship was damaged and a small fire was started by the attack, but the pirates failed to capture the ship. The crew extinguished the fire. A US Navy vessel showed up several hours later. Obviously, the pirates are terrified of having Ms. Hitllary out "cooperating" against them. Yahoo News Story

Several recently pirate attacked ships have been working for the UN's World Food Project, WFP. The agency is now worried about a cargo ship hijacked Tuesday, the Lebanese-owned MV Sea Horse, which was heading to Mumbai, India, to pick up 7,327 tons of WFP food for Somalia. The Sea Horse was not a WFP-contracted ship when it was hijacked, but would have flown under WFP flag once the food was loaded.

The Somalia pirates correctly heard Pansy Obama saying that he would "work with other nations" to do nothing about the growing business of piracy. In response to Pathetic Obama's Sunday promise to stand down, the pirates captured 4 more vessels on Monday. The Monday booty includes 2 Egyptian fishing boats, a Lebanese-owned cargo ship, the MV Sea Horse, and the Greek-managed MV Irene. Yahoo news story.

When Pansy Obama says "work together with other nations to end piracy" that means he will send Ms. Hitllary after them instead of the US Navy, Marines, Army, or Air Force. Ms. Hitllary obviously has them shaking in their boots from fear. She makes the US into the laughing stock of international relations.

International piracy is a very profitable business as long as none of the nations who own the ships, and have economies that depend on goods transported by ships are willing to do anything about it. So far, they are hiding their heads in the sand and hoping danger will go away. It is another major step toward destroying the world economy as international trade begins to collapse. Nations do not allow merchant ships to be armed, and refuse to do anything to protect them from piracy in the vast spaces of open ocean. Americans do not believe in surrender. Even the Alabama was only saved because the American crew refused to give up the ship. Our national leaders are failures.

The US Navy finally took action to save the Captain after sitting idle for 5 days while he suffered. All it took was a decision to allow small arms snipers to do their thing. Meanwhile other pirate ships are sailing in and out of their home ports in Somalia without being harassed or stopped. There is no blockade of ports, no attack on their safe haven ports where their international crimes are welcomed and profitable, and no attempt to recover any of the dozen other ships that they are holding for ransom. Angry pirates in Somalia vowed retaliation, not the pathetic Obama administration. No guts. No action. The "changed" America.

On Monday, Pathetic Barack Obama, a.k.a. Barry Soetoro, promised "to work with other nations to halt the rise of piracy." President Obama returned early this week from a "Surrender" tour of Europe during which he promised to disarm the United States and clearly demonstrated that the US is now run by pussies and milquetoast nobodies. Pirates operating with impunity from Somalia celebrated Obama’s pathetic tour by capturing an American flag ship, the Alabama. Under the Bush Administration, pirates had picked on ships from Indonesia, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and other pushover nations. Before Obama’s demonstration of the new milquetoast United States, they had avoided American Ships.

The US has a long history of fighting Pirates. President Thomas Jefferson sent the US Navy to Africa to fight pirates from Tripoli. Our navy hired a mercenary army and captured the port and fort city of Tripoli. Their government was forced to sign a treaty promising to control piracy operating from their ports and stop piracy against US shipping. The US has maintained a similar policy of force against pirates for the past 200 years, until Obama and the “CHANGE” liberal government took over. Obama is from Kenya and his allegiance is more with the pirates than with the US and American ship owners.

The American crew of the Alabama managed to recaptured their ship, but some of the pirates managed to escape in a lifeboat, taking the Captain with them. A US Navy ship finally arrived in the vicinity of the Alabama and the pirates, but has taken no action in 4 days. When the Captain escaped from the lifeboat and tried to swim to the USN frigate Bainbridge, the US Navy took no action to save him, and he was recaptured by the pirates.

For several years the pirates have been operating out of Somali ports of Eyl and Harardhere. When their attack crew failed to return they set out from those ports attempting to rescue them in several purloined (pirated) ships they had previously taken form other nations. The US Navy took no action against the pirate’s “mother” ship nor the other pirate ships other than to physically block their passage to the specific area where the American sea captain was still being held by pirates in a lifeboat from the Alabama.

For several years now an international naval force has been escorting merchant vessels and patrolling a portion of the Red Sea. Their patrol has been largely ineffective. Somali pirates simply moved their capture area into the Indian Ocean beyond the patrol area. That is where the Alabama and numerous other ships have been taken recently.

In a show of their disdain for Obama’s milquetoast “peace” methods, the pirates captured an American owned tugboat in on transit to the Suez Canal. That is the second American vessels captured since Obama’s disastrous European “Surrender Tour.” Read Yahoo Story

If Bob were running the US military, we would be taking a position similar to the historic direction set for us by President Thomas Jefferson. He and Bob understand that it is physically impossible and completely ineffective to fight pirates at sea. You can only fight the threat of pirates by attacking their home ports and making it unprofitable for their governments to allow piracy to operate from their port. The US Marines still sing of “…to the shores of Tripoli.” Only by taking the fight to their home port can pirates be put out of business.

If Bob were in command of the military, the ports of Eyl and Harardhere would experience continuing “carpet bombing” until they either sued for peace or were unable to continue harboring pirates. Carpet bombing would consist of thousands of tons of “dumb” bombs, along with lots of incendiary bombs, and cluster bombs. The little bomblets in the cluster bombs kill anyone who is stupid enough to be in the open. Dumb bombs are more effective than “smart” bombs because random attacks cause a lot more fear than precision targeted attacks. In a random attack there is no place safe to hide. Bombing would be repeated every time that any American ship is threatened by their pirates. It cannot be profitable for the port authority to harbor pirates.

After the port cities were leveled, several naval vessels would sail into the port and reclaim all captured ships while using their guns to blast anyone or anything that moved.

Once the captured ships were rescued, a blockade of Somali ports would commence. It should have been done a long time ago, as soon as the world knew that Somalia is harboring pirates. Any vessel of any size (even a row boat) that leaves any Somali port would be summarily sunk with loss of all crew. The blockade would continue until Somalia has reformed a government and negotiated international treaties promising to capture and punish all pirates who may try to operate from its ports.

Bob notes that the French are not as milquetoast as the Obamanation. While the US Navy has been dinking around failing to recapture a pirate operated lifeboat, the French Navy recaptured a French yacht and killed or captured the pirates who had taken her.

Meanwhile the US, the Obamanation, the failed and failing “changed” nation, no longer has the guts to defend our ships at sea. Shame, shame, shame on Obama and his pathetic pansy ass wimp government.

HughesNet Really Sucks!

Update February 10, 2010

The HughesNet 9000 modem lasted for a little less than a year. It died suddenly leaving Bob without Internet service. Phoning the HughesNet All-India technical support made it worse. Prior to phoning the "support" person the modem status screen said that both its transmit and receive were functional but it wouldn't find a web site. After the HughesNet tech "support" interacted with it, the modem no longer would even try to transmit. They quoted $125 to send a technician out to look at the hardware. The technician spent 2 hours fiddling with the equipment and said he couldn't fix it. They will send someone else sometime next week.

The problem is most likely at the HughesNet Control Center, the system load shedding probably dropped customers who had been on for a year to free space for big commercial customers, and for new customers. Their management policy and practices are criminal. See HughesNet Still Sucks.


Update February 20, 2009

Despite what they promise on their glitzy TV commercials, the functional speed of HughesNet service is never close to the "up to" that they claim, and continues to decline over time. It gets slower and slower as long term customers get pushed lower and lower on their priority tree. Their HughesNet web terminal host computers serve the priority customers first, and then the lower priority customers when they have time. New customers are added to the top, and long term customers get what’s left. Eventually it becomes as slow as dial up phone service.

After 3 years, Bob’s HughesNet service not only was sloooooooooooooow, but it stopped working at all during peak evening usage hours. Bob phoned the HughesNet Asians who are euphemistically called “customer support.” Their job is to cause the customer to perform a series of useless tests until he becomes tired of complaining and goes away. HughesNet also has “level 2” support technicians, but they still don’t have any authority to raise your priority assignment until you get to their “level 3” technicians who are Americans and can actually speak good English. It is the job of the level 1 Asians not to allow you to speak to the level 3 technicians who have better things to do than take care of customers.

The Level 1 Asians recommended that Bob “upgrade” from the “DirectWay” DW 7000 model modem to a “new” HughesNet HN7000s modem. He said that HughesNet could not fix my problems (dropping out during peak usage periods) unless I paid to “upgrade” my modem. The cost of the HN 7000 modem was going to be $349 counting a service technician to install it.

Bob checked the HughesNet web site and found that they have not provided the 7000 series to new customers for almost a year, since last March. They were demanding that Bob pay over $300 to “upgrade” to an obsolete 7000 series which (according to the local HughesNet installer) is not significantly different from the DirectWay modem except that it says “Hughes” on it. Hughes bought or took over the service from DirectWay about the time that Bob became a customer. “We no longer support the DW modems,” said the Asian “customer service” operator.

New HughesNet customers have been getting a new HN9000 series modem since last March. Their own web site doesn’t even mention the 7000 series at all except when an existing customer requests an “upgrade.”

Bob called the Customer Service Asians back the next day and demanded to speak to someone who could address the change in service during peak hours, and/or provide a real upgrade to the 9000 series modems. Bob must have upset him because my HughesNet service went from bad to not functioning at all while I was talking to him. He refused to consider any options other than paying to “upgrade” to the now obsolete “HughesNet” 7000 modem. After that “customer service“ from Hughes, Bob has been without an Internet connection for about 2 weeks.

Bob phoned the Hughes account department to inform them that Bob would not be paying their bill as long as Hughes is refusing to provide service, and eventually was told that Bob would have to cancel the account in order to be eligible, as a “new” customer, for the 9000 series modems. I told her to cancel my account.

Bob eventually tracked down the local HughesNet installer and signed up for a new account with the new 9000 modem. The local technician said that the “upgrade” HN 7000 modem is no better than the DirectWay DW 7000 modem. He said that he often replaces the 7000 series with the 9000 series because the HN 7000 isn’t worth shit.

There is one other satellite direct Internet provider called “Wild Blue.” According to my installer, they used to sell a lot of Wild Blue installations, but had nothing but trouble with the modems and connections. They also are reported to have very shoddy billing and business practices. Wild Blue is apparently even worse than HughesNet. What ever happened to companies who take care to do a good job and serve their customers?

So Bob is back on-line from home again. There is a wire running across the yard on the snow, and through an open window, but its connected.

If you live in town where Comcast is available don’t ever get HughesNet. Even the phone company now has better service in most places. HughesNet really sucks. Lies and bad service is how they work. If Bob lived anywhere that any other broadband service is available, Hughes would be dumped immediately. At least with Comcast you don’t have to trudge out into the snow to sweep off your dish, it’s a lot faster, and doesn‘t limit your total usage.

I subscribed to HughesNet satellite direct Internet. It was DirecWay Internet. I've had it for about a month now and it's the biggest piece of crap I've ever had since I've been on-line. Bob has been on line since the days of Commodore computers and 300 baud bulletin boards. Bob has seen the good and the bad, and Hughes satellite direct Internet service is expensive crapola. About 1 day out of 2 it goes off-line and stays off line for hours. Their "technical support" phone number gives you an endless recording recommending their on-line support web site, which you can't access since their crap Internet service is down. Every other company I've dealt with at least would talk to their customers, and some of them actually have technical support available. For example, I subscribed to Comcast cable Internet for several years. Their service only went out about once a year, and when I messed something up their technical support was always available for help. Not with HughesNet crap. So fare I've never been able to talk to a live support person, and by now she doesn't want to hear the things I would tell her about how crappy their lack of service has been. As a company, HughesNet makes AOL seem like heaven. I wish we still lived where Comcast serves. HughesNet (DirecWay) has got to be the worst company I've ever tried to deal with. They don't provide the service they promise, and they won't talk to their customers.

Does anyone have a software that will phone their number every 15 seconds? I'd love to call their "customer assistance" line a few hundred thousand times. I'm liable to pack the whole dish up and give it back to them and tell them to sue me. They have failed utterly to provide the service they promised.

California Bankrupt!

The leftist state of California has gone bankrupt. This week the California government, led by RINO Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, California announced this week that it is unable to pay its bills. State tax refunds due to Californians are being delayed for at least 30 days because the state is broke and can’t pay, according to State Controller John Chiang. Read Yahoo news story. California is also unable to pay its bills to businesses who sell goods to the state. They are giving businesses an "IOU" saying that they will pay later. The definition of "bankruptcy" is having diets that you can't pay. California is bankrupt.

California is not alone. Dozens of other states and the US national government are rushing pell-mell toward bankruptcy. US President Barry Soetoro, a.k.a. Barack Obama, is pushing hard for Congress to enact another trillion dollar pork bill aimed at robbing the people, putting America’s wealth into their pockets before the economy collapses.

The row of dominoes is starting to fall. Stockpile trade good.

GE takes a bath

GE, formerly known as General Electric Corporation, has redirected its efforts from business success to political agendas. The economic outcome is a financial disaster. GE profits were down drastically in the latest quarterly report. Chief Executive Jeff Immelt has led the company into financial disaster as he substitutes left wing hate politics for busienss sense. Among the major asses of GE Corporation are TV networks NBC (hate TV) and CNBC. NBC has led the NYC media charge toward financial ruin for the US, taking every opportunity to spread anti-men hate, and trash the US government and the US economy. From their “Hateline” pseudo magazine show to the day after day propaganda that has replaced news reporting, NBC is dumping a ton of money fostering hate and economic depression.

Blue Gun Thug runs Amok

Utah State Blue Gun Thug Brian Smith went on a shooting spree in the Dallas, TX, area. Smith shot several randomly selected travelers, focusing mostly on drivers of large trucks, and killed several of them. The details aren't well known yet because Smith shot it out with the Texas blue gun thugs in a territorial war. Texas gun thugs don't want any Utah gun thugs killing motorists in their turf. There are few things a gang member hates more than a rival gang intruding into their turf. Smith was shot and seriously wounded in a shootout with the local Texas gun thugs.

“It’s Not Even Winter Yet” -- NUTTERS!

An artic storm is paralyzing much of the United States. From Seattle to Boston, snow and ice have millions of Americans fighting the cold and trying to keep life together. It snowed for two consecutive days in New Orleans and its been flooding in southern California. This morning the talking head idiot “weather” guy on NBC says “It’s not even winter yet.” Do you have to have a total frontal lobotomy to go on TV? Even in New York the weather has been cold, snow, and winter. But the mindless idiots mouth the same old nonsense and pretend that their blather is truth.

Winter solstice has been celebrated as “Midwinter’s Night” for thousands of years. Midwinter was being celebrated at Stonehenge when it was still made of wood.

Winter solstice is the night when the sun is the farthest south, and the morning when the days begin to get longer. Winter solstice or Midwinter’s Night is the “reason for the season” that has been celebrated for thousand and thousands of years, long, long before any of the modern religions.

For Politically Correct reasons the powers that be decided to arbitrarily and erroneously declare that the new “winter” begins on Midwinter’s Night and lasts until the middle of spring, Spring Equinox. Their arbitrary fiction makes as much sense as the legislation that Pi to be exactly 3. It sounds good in the marble halls of the mentally challenged, but has no validity in the real world.

We live in a world where those who pontificate about the weather continually demonstrate that they have no clue what they are talking about. When they make plainly impossible statements like “Its not even winter yet” they demonstrate their own pathetic incompetence to be doing their job. Are we supposed to believe them that their so-called “Global Warming” has any truth when they are unable to look out their window and see ice storms and freezing blizzards across the whole Northern Hemisphere? They may be as demonstrably dumb as a post, but we aren’t. What a bunch of mindless idiots.

We light our candles and other small lights against the darkness as a portend of the return of the light time of year. We decorate our homes and trees. We get together with our friends and give gifts as our ancestors have done at Midwinter’s Night for many thousand s of years.

How Stupid can you get?

I’ve gotta say it. Galveston, Texas, is a really stupid place to build a city. A century ago a hurricane came in and washed away most of the people along with most of the buildings. Sea water storm surge was 10 feet deep or more across the whole island. So what did the survivors do? They rebuilt the homes on the same stupid hurricane zone island.

So Hurricane Ike comes along and washes away most of the homes in Galveston. Can anybody say “You STUPID idiots!”

So what are they planning to do now? You guessed it. The survivors are hell bent on rebuilding on the Galveston sand bar island to get ready for the next hurricane. Someone said that the definition of insanity is someone who keeps doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result.
